Harvest Haliburton is a grass roots, volunteer committee that supports the development of a sustainable local food system for Haliburton County
Through networks, partnerships and collaboration, Harvest Haliburton’s role is to raise awareness, create supportive environments and local food policies that are necessary for a sustainable local food system.
A food system is a collaborative network. There are six component of a food system; Production, Processing, Distribution, Access/ Retailing, Consumption, Composting/ Waste Management
Creating a sustainable local food system supports our economy, the health of our environment, and the health and social well-being of our residents. This makes our community a wonderful place, to live, work, play and visit.
